CarMeter is a freeware application for Nokia S60 that can measure & display your vehicle’s acceleration and g-force in real-time using the built-in accelerometer sensor. You just need to put your Nokia S60 device into the mobile phone holder of your car and start the application. CarMeter will automatically detect the orientation and calibrate itself so that it can measure the tilt and acceleration accurately in any possible position.

Apart from providing a fun element, CarMeter aims to increase your safety while driving a vehicle. If the forces at tight turns get dangerous, CarMeter instantly displays an audio-visual warning – reminding you to slow down.

The second mode of operation is suited for driving off-road. Instead of measuring acceleration, CarMeter constantly displays the current tilt of your car. This enables you to see how steep the road on which you are driving actually is. Again, the application displays an audio-visual warning if the tilt is beyond the critical level of tilt in most common off-road cars.
