WHERE is a freeware mobile GPS application that enables you to find people, places and get relevant location based content and information on your smartphone based on your physical GPS location in the form of Widgets. Widgets are small (or large) applications that help you find interesting things and do everyday tasks. WHERE Widgets usually access your GPS phone location to determine where you are.
WHERE provides a library of Widgets with all essential services that you may require in your daily life such as Local Weather, Gas Buddy, Airport/Flight Finder, Zipcar and Rent-A-Car Location Finder, Geowikipedia, Local news, Directions and more. There are also widgets for fun and entertainment like Yelp for local reviews, Eventful Events, Flickpics, StubHub, and ShopLocal. You can also use WHERE to locate and meet up with your friends using widgets like the AIM Buddy Finder, Buddy Beacon, GPS Twitter and more. There are plenty of widgets to choose from to personalize your mobile GPS experience.
WHERE makes it easy for you to choose which widgets you want on your phone. By going to www.where.com you can create your own WHERE account to manage your widgets. Your WHERE account will allow you to select from a library with a multitude of widgets. Just choose the widget you want, drag it to your cellphone’s picture displayed and drop it on the phone’s screen. That widget will appear on your cell phone wirelessly without Infrared or Bluetooth capabilities. You can choose to add as many widgets as you would like. If you aren’t by a computer, you can add and remove widgets right from your phone by selecting “Add Free Widgets” on your WHERE home page.
On where.com’s homepage, you can search and sort for GPS widgets based on popularity, the time they were added or even alphabetically.
