Thrrum Cameraphone Search is an intuitive visual search application for Nokia S60 and Sony Ericsson UIQ mobile devices that gives you contextual information about real-world objects using images captured by your cellphone camera. Simply point your phone at any text, capture a photo with the camera, and you will get back relevant search results about the product mentioned in the text (such as cost/price) on your device screen. With Thrrum Cameraphone Search, any text that you see around you becomes a hyperlink that can be “clicked” upon with your cameraphone.
Any legible text found on billboards, menus, books, product labels, printed material, nameplates or virtually any other physical object can be clicked and sent to Thrrum for analysis in one of the two ways:
+ Thrrum Visual Browser is an offline Visual Search application for mobile phones. It lets you capture, send and search information from a graphical user interface via GPRS, 3G, EDGE or Wi-Fi WLAN.
+ m@Thrrum enables you to send information using MMS. Using an auto-focus or macro-mode enabled mobile phone camera, take a picture of any object incl text with flash disabled, ensuring that the text is legible in the viewfinder. Once you’ve captured a suitable picture, you can send it as a picture message (MMS) to m@Thrrum.com. You will receive a SMS back with relevant information.
