My Lockbox is a freeware security software that allows you to password protect any folder or directory on your computer. The protected folder (called “lockbox”) is hidden from any user and application on your system, including the Administrator and computer’s system account itself.

It is impossible to access the lockbox not only from the local computer (while searching) but also remotely via a network share. Even if you choose “show hidden files and folders” under Folder Options or boot into safe mode, the folders are not exposed. Also, the space occupied by the contents of the folder is not displayed by Windows Explorer while navigating. The only time the folders might be revealed is when you browse the drive from another OS such as Linux.
