Quicken Beam is a free web and SMS based service to check your bank and credit card finance configured in your online Quicken account on your mobile device. Beam automatically updates your account balances and transactions every day. You can sign up for daily SMS alerts which are sent every morning. These text messages include your balance and last five transactions from the night before.

Beam can send you alerts if it detects any unusual activity in your accounts such as low balance, high credit card balance, or a large expense. You also have the option of sending an SMS to get the latest balance for all your checking and credit card accounts.

From your mobile phone, you can only see the most recent 5 transactions in each account. For other transactions, you have to login from a PC browser. You can configure your account to get text alerts every day, so you can go back and refer to any previous day’s transactions from your cellphone.

Here are some of the commands you can send to Quicken Beam:

BAL - Get one message per checking and credit card account. Each message includes your account balance and last 5 transactions.

BAL ALL - Get your balances for all accounts you’ve added to Beam.

BAL CHK - Get one message with your checking account balance and last 5 transactions. If you have more than one checking account, you’ll get a separate SMS for each one.

BAL CREDIT - Get one message for each of your credit card accounts with your credit account balance and last 5 transactions.

BAL SAVE - Get one message for each savings account along with its balance and last 5 transactions.

STOP - Stop receiving SMS alerts from Beam
