Earthscape Mobile is a Google Earth-like virtual earth software for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch with support for accelerometer based controls.

With Earthscape, you can fly anywhere on the Earth and view beautiful satellite imagery in realistic 3D, explore geotagged wikipedia links to learn more about the surroundings, and use the built-in GPS receiver to identify your location and view your surroundings from a unique perspective. Earthscape allows you to tag places with text, photos, restaurant reviews, and Wikipedia articles. It also lets you see different image overlays of the same spot during different seasons and different times in history.

Using the iPhone’s multi-touch display, iPhone Earth allows the user to pan around and zoom in (using the pinch gesture) on different portions of a 3D globe. When the iPhone is tilted, the earth begins to rotate and you can navigate to another part of the globe. Controls include: drag two fingers to circum-navigate, drag one to navigate, double tap or pinch to zoom in and open pinch to zoom out.

The entire United States can be viewed in detail, usually comparable or slightly better than current desktop solutions. Imagery outside of the United States is currently limited to 15 meters resolution.
