Nokia has announced the beta release of Map Loader for Mac OSX version 1.0. This software allows you to load Maps to your mobile device from a Mac OSX based computer, rather than over the air, thus saving on your phone bill. Nokia MapLoader allows you to download map data for whole countries or areas, so that you don’t need to use data connection on the road. Previously, this application was only available for Windows XP and Vista.

Usage:
Firstly make sure you have a memory card inserted in your device, unless it has large in-built memory like Nokia N95-8GB. Launch the Maps application on your mobile phone. Once you have done this, you can connect your smartphone to an internet connected Mac OSX coputer using a USB cable. Then launch Map Loader for Mac on the desktop. Now you can drag and drop various maps elements such as countries to your mobile device.
