SnapTell Explorer is a freeware application for Apple iPhone or any camera enabled cellphone that uses image recognition technology to lookup products using the mobile phone camera.

This software allows a user to simply use a mobile phone camera to snap a picture of any DVD, CD, book or video game cover, send the picture to SnapTell using MMS or Email and get back information about that DVD, CD or video game on the cell phones.

SnapTell now has nearly a million titles in its image recognition database and is continually adding more images to its robust image recognition database. The information consumers receive about desired entertainment information includes reviews, prices, run times, description of the content and a link to buy the DVD, CD or video game.

Normally SnapTell tries to match a captured image with something in its own database. However, if it cannot find a match, it uses a patent pending innovation to automatically extract text embedded in camera phone images with unprecedented accuracy and use the extracted text to drive search.
