FireTom is the add-on application for TomTom GPS devices that enables real-time, live tracking the location of your TomTom GPS device on the Internet using Yahoo FireEagle service.

FireTom sends your location to the Fire Eagle location hub. This location then is made available to internet applications. Using Firetom’s website, you can create a link to an internet webpage or create an iGoogle gadget for your iGoogle home page. The iGoogle gadget displays a small map with the marker that tracks your most recent location. It also contains the link to a full sized map.

The Fire Eagle website also maintains an Application Gallery containing a list of other applications you can use to track your TomTom GPS location.

You can run FireTom on both TomTom devices that may or may not be connected to the Internet. If the device is connected to Internet, your location is sent directly to Fire Eagle. Otherwise your location can be stored to the TomTom storage card and then posted to Internet when you connect your TomTom device to your computer.
